ABOUT THE GLOBAL INCLUSION REGIONAL SUMMIT

Diversity Abroad is excited to host its inaugural Global Inclusion Regional Summit (GIRS), a multi-day event taking place in London, United Kingdom at London Metropolitan University from March 13-15, 2024.

The Summit brings together educators and practitioners to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in international education and global learning. The Summit in London and future Summits provide convenient forums to convene regionally based professionals to foster dialogue, collaborate, and share knowledge on inclusive practices in global education. The 2024 Summit will center DEIB in international education from the European perspective. Detailed information about the event, registration, accommodations, and more continue below.

ABOUT THE GLOBAL INCLUSION REGIONAL SUMMIT

The Regional Summit serves as a platform for educators, practitioners, and thought leaders from around the world to come together and drive meaningful change. With a rich history of hosting workshops and trainings globally for over a decade, Diversity Abroad is extending its efforts  outside of the United States with this multi-day event that aims to inspire, inform, and empower participants.

GIRS 2024 aims to foster innovation, build a vibrant community, and encourage collaboration among attendees, as we collectively work towards a more sustainable and equitable future. This summit offers a unique opportunity to share cutting-edge practices, explore new perspectives, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue on diversity, equity, inclusion, and global education.

The Global Inclusion Regional Summit (GIRS) serves as a reflection of Diversity Abroad's holistic approach to addressing and accelerating systemic and equitable change in all aspects of global education and cultural exchange. Our commitment extends to five key areas:

  • Outward Mobility: We seek to enhance study abroad, exchange programs, and short-term mobility experiences by promoting accessibility, inclusivity, and equitable opportunities for all students.
  • International Student Success: We strive to create an environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional well-being of international students, ensuring their success throughout their educational journeys.
  • Internationalization at Home: We explore ways to foster intercultural learning, global awareness, and diversity within local communities, recognizing that global education extends beyond physical borders.
  • Organizational and Career Development: We provide resources, guidance, and training to institutions and professionals in the field, empowering them to create inclusive environments and advance their careers.
  • International Student Recruitment: We promote strategies and best practices for recruiting a diverse and inclusive cohort of international students, ensuring a welcoming and supportive campus environment.

Join us at GIRS 2024 and be part of the global movement to transform education and exchange through diversity, equity, and inclusion. Together, we can create a more just and interconnected world.
